He consults with business and individual clients in the areas of tax and strategic planning and has a wide range of accounting experience which enables him to provide relevant and timely advice
Alastair Scanlon (M.Com, FIPA)
Alastair has over 20 years’ experience in the accounting profession. Alastair holds a Master of Commerce as well as a Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants and has been a registered tax agent in his own right since 1998. Alastair is also a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, an invitation only honours organization that recognizes academic excellent
Scott Knuckey (B.Com, CPA)
Scott graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2006 with a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and public practising certificate holder. Scott specialises in taxation, corporate tax compliance and strategic planning with clients that range from individuals to small and medium enterprises both within the Tasmanian community and abroad.
Geoff Ward (B.Com)
Geoff has been in the accounting industry specializing in business services and tax advisory since 2012. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Tasmania and is currently studying for his Graduate Certificate of Chartered Accounting Foundations.A professional focus enables Geoff to build strong relationships with his client, having worked extensively with SMEs and high net worth individuals across several industries including forestry, not-for-profit, tourism, hospitality and primary industries.Geoff has a strong grasp of legislation regarding Self-Managed Super Funds.
Stuart has recently relocated to Hobart from Cowra in NSW with his wife and two children. Stuart studied Accounting and Applied Science at Charles Sturt University and has worked in agriculture, horticulture and irrigation before becoming an accountant.Stuart has vast experience in all areas of taxation and business management.
Janet Vail (B.Bus (Acc), Dip FP)
Janet has worked in the Accounting and Financial Services industry since 2009 and is one of the newest additions to our team.
Having studied a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting at University of Tasmania and holding a Diploma of Financial Planning, Janet uses her extensive experience in bookkeeping, accounting and corporate governance to provide support and advice to businesses across a wide range of industries including government, primary production, medical and hospitality. Janet is also a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society for academic excellence.
Lucy joined the team at Scanlon Richardson in 2017 as a Client Services Manager. Lucy has a strong background in bookkeeping, with vast experience using the latest cloud-based accounting software. She has previously worked with small to medium businesses across different industries and is passionate about delivering quality bookkeeping services to our clients.
Matthew was born in Bath, England and studied Business Management at Solent University, Southampton. He moved to Hobart in 2017 after spending the previous 12 years living in London. Before making the decision to change career and train up to be an accountant, Matt had spent 6 years working in the non-profit industry as a manager in a registered charity.
Fiona O’Keefe B.Com (Acc)
Fiona graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2006 with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting. She has experience in audit, Self-Managed Super Funds and the not-for-profit sector. She enjoys developing her skills and knowledge in taxation work and is looking forward to studying for her CPA accreditation. Fiona is currently an executive board member for the West Moonah Community House.
Brayden Kershaw-Donkers (B. Bus)
With a Bachelor in Business, majoring in accounting and marketing, Brayden has worked in the accounting profession for 5 years and is currently undertaking the Capstone unit of the program to gain the Chartered Accountant qualification. He has experience in working with a large variety of business ranging from basic sole traders through to large companies, as well as superannuation funds and non-profit organisations to assist in their accounting and financial needs. He thrives on helping clients find solutions to the financial challenges that they face. Brayden’s background in marketing assists him in thinking outside of the financial box and allows him to analyse and assist business in achieving both their strategic and financial goals.
Shannon Webb (Dip FP)
Shannon is our superannuation superhero – basically anything she doesn’t know about dealing with self managed superannuation annual returns and financial statements probably isn’t worth knowing! She has comprehensive experience gained from over 15 years working in the area and her Diploma of Financial Planning enables her to tackle even the most complex superannuation questions and issues. Her thoroughness, attention to detail and analytical skills are highly prized.

Samantha has extensive experience in administrative roles and has worked in our client services space for 18 months before taking on the new challenge of helping to develop our digital marketing strategy and presence. Having a background in law, mental health and disability, she brings a great deal of diverse life experience to the firm alongside a ready smile and enthusiasm for mastering new skills.

Lauren’s cheerful disposition and strong customer service background means she is serious about providing timely assistance and helpful solutions to our clients, but always finds a moment within her fast-paced role for a friendly word with our regulars.
With a degree in Humanities, expertise in small business management, and years of clerical and administrative experience acquired working in the public service and finance industry, Lauren’s broad skill set makes her an important part of our client services team.

Tracey joined Scanlon Richardson Financial Group in June 2018 as one of our Client Service Managers. With a strong background in finance and professional services, Tracey is well placed to assist our accounting team deliver the highest quality service to our clients.
Having previously worked for a major bank as well as in the corporate sector, she brings a variety of skills and experience to our firm.

Anna joined the team in August 2018 after travelling around Australia for two years. She has previously worked in client services / administration roles in the accounting industry and we are now fortunate that she has joined us as part of our reception and administration hub. Make sure you ask her about her travels when you come in to the office!

Sophie moved over from England 2 and a half years ago to be closer to family who live in St Helens. She has just started her second year studying Psychology and HR Management at UTAS and is enjoying the challenge of learning something new. She has been working in financial services for the last 8 years, mostly in financial planning but moved over to an accounting support role 12 months ago. She has been trying to visit different parts of Tasmania in her free time but still has so many more places to tick off the list!
